President Barack Obama signed into law a 1.5 percent pay raise and an average 05. percent locality pay increase for federal civilian employees on Dec. 16. The raise takes effect January 1, 2010.
The pay raise is included in a fiscal 2010 spending omnibus which funds the following agencies: Commerce, Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Labor, State, Transportation and Veterans Affairs departments.
The only appropriations bill not signed into law is Defense, which the Senate may pass today. The House passed it Dec. 16.

President Obama throws our tax monies around all over the world like he is the second coming of Christ Jesus or Santa Claus. Yet he snubs those working in the Federal Government who must implement his outrageous behavior with a paltry pay raise as we lose our homes, cars, and even our ability to purchase groceries as the economy tanks. And yet he claim no “inflation” means tiny raise. In my mind his ego is the most inflated thing in this world.
I’m not happy with the crappy pay increase either.
However, when you speak of throwing tax monies around all over the world surely you must be talking about the cost of waging 2 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan wars…
I have only one question for you, where was your concern 6-8 + yrs ago?
And as far the economy is concerned it began “tanking” long before Mr Obama walked in the door…
I imagine all presidents have “HUGE” egos…
Just sayin’–
If SS income folks do not get a cost of living raise no one in the goverment should.
We should all be thankful we have jobs! Anything more than that is icing on the cake. Everybody has different circumstances for the condition they are in, some good and some not. Where you go from here is based on what we do with what we have not what we expect to get.
Good Luck and best wishes!
