On Sept. 11, 2001, I was an intern at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Washington.
Post 9/11, there was an amazing display of strength, courage and unity among Americans. This patriotic and philanthropic display fostered a desire within me to become a civil servant.
I interned with the Veterans Affairs Department and now work for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where I am proud to assist our beneficiaries.
