I have only been a federal employee for 11 months, but 9/11 changed my work life.
I have chosen to put my whole heart into believing in my president and my country. I address each task in my workday with a pride I have gained watching the millions of American citizens aid the families of the lost and showing oneness, strength and sustained confidence that everything will be OK.
I have a clearer view of my peers, neighbors and co-workers because I choose to know them as people. I have learned it is not so important to know someone’s belief as it is to offer them kindness, patience and tolerance.
As I begin my next meeting, I wonder if the others feel the same.
