Noticing the effects of budget uncertainty? Federal Times wants to hear from you

For federal agencies, to quote Yogi Berra, it’s looking like déjà vu all over again. Congress isn’t close to finishing up work on the fiscal 2012 budget bills, meaning that a new continuing resolution is coming  Oct. 1. And in regard to fiscal 2013, it’s not clear how much planning agencies can do when they have no idea what their FY12 budgets are going to be.

What effect is this having at your agency and how do people feel about it? And are agencies doing anything different to prepare for the upcoming continuing resolution than they did last year? We’d like to hear from you. Email reporter Sean Reilly at sreilly@federaltimes.com. If you’d prefer to talk off the record, or would like to be quoted anonymously, that’s fine.

  1. My Agency has pushed so much Paperwork down on the personnel out in the field that we can not keep up. Maybe if we each had between 4-8 contractors to take care of we could complete all the required paperwork. But, me and my coworkers have over 20 contractors each, no way can we even keep up. And management thinks this is ok with our high rate of turnover.
